Here are the Discus that I purchased from Dan around 2 weeks ago. Dan i would like to say thanks again. I had better Pictures that were deleted:furious:from when the tank was aqua scapes with plastic plants. Dan talked me out of the plant thing for now. I am now thinking about removing the gravel cuz it is a P>I>T>A> to keep clean. i will post more pics in a few months to see some growth.

Barebottom is really best for growing out babies and young juvies. There just isn't a way to keep gravel clean enough for their needs. Be sure to do LOTS of water changes and they will grow and flourish! There will be time later, after they grow, to 'scape the tank.

Well the plants are just in the way and are more of a hassle that anything. And yea I am looking at going bare bottom for a while. It takes forever to rid the gravel of waist. I am doing 50% water changes every day to every other day. never more than 2 days without one. i an feeding them tetra color bits as Dan recomended. I am also looking at suplementing their diet with something ealse anyone have any good ideas that wont break the bank?

buying Bloodworm it's not expensive. you need some live(even it's frozen) food for them. right?

I guess I'm old fashioned, but a good beefheart-seafood mix is what I found grows them fast and big. It can be messy, need everyday water changes. I've also heard that Prime reef flake, by Ocean Nutrition will do well, I'm using that now on my tank. Someone on Simply Discus is trying to raise a spawn on this to see how they fare. It's good stuff.

Thank you I used beef heart in the past to no avail. Guess its time to try again. Do you guys have any other tips on filtration tank lighting chemicals etc. to help my little guys thrive?

                      Tank:
                      temp stays around 88f
factory hoods w/ personal moon light mod.
                      fluvol 304
                      airpump/ airstone
every day to everyother day water changes using generic tapwater con.
