Holding fry

How do you know if a trophs. is holding the fry in their mouth because I have a colony about 4-5 inches and I want to see if I can do the strip? People do strip their trophs. so I will give it a try to my trophs.

this is a good site for answers...but normally if I have a question I just type that question into a google search bar and then read the first few pages. If she is holding, then here mouth will be stuffed.

can i strip them at 18 days after they spawn?

18 days is a good amount of time but you will still need to tumble some cause there might be still some visible eggsack and sometimes they will get cannabalistic on each other.

I will do it at 25 days then because I don't want to tumble any eggs.

The closer to spit the better since the fry will be more independant.

I agree.... if you plan on going through all that trouble either nurse the female on her own so that she can learn to brood or just leave them to let natural selection work.
