  • Waterlogging wood?

what is the quickest way to water log wood i would prefer not to anchor it to a piece of slate and it would be hard to boil due to it size

If it is too large to boil you may try putting it in a Rubbermaid container and pouring boiling water over it.....

Bet besides boiling soaking it and weighing it down until it sinks may be the only way to go about it

lol..this could be interesting. my friend had his sitting in his tank stuck to a piece of slate held down by about 3-4" of gravel for about 3-4 weeks atleast before it stayed down. or it might have been longer lol. he boiled it and everything, nothing really helped lol.. too light.

Turn it over and drill a bunch of holes in the bottom
Then fill the holes with nickles & dimes
(quarters & pennies have copper in them)

        or.....

Tie it to a concrete block and drop it in Galveston Bay
Then go back and get it this fall.
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

I just let the piece float around and sink whenever it feels like it. It takes a few months but eventually it will sink.

or if you really really don't like it floating, then use fishing line to tie it to a piece of slate and it'll sit at the bottom of the tank. When it is fully waterlogged you can just cut the string and remove the slate.

Put it in the tank of your toilet. That way it'll sink and leech out the tannins.
