How do you reseal a tank? Is it hard? Will anyone do it for me?

I'm planning on picking up a tank tomorrow that I understand needs to be resealed due to age. I have no idea how to reseal a tank and would be afraid of it failing, ending up flooding my house.

How difficult is it to reseal a tank? Is there anyone who would be willing to do it for me? I'd be wiling to pay as long as it's not so expensive that it's not better to just replace the tank.

The dimensions are around 60"x18"x24". It's the 115g Oceanic Cesar just sold in this thread:

The original buyer can't keep it so I'm buying it from him. Cesar recommends I reseal the tank before using it. It's not leaking, but it was made in '94 or '97.

I'm not gonna lie to you, that's gonna be a big project no matter who does it for you. larger tanks are harder to seal because you need more equipment and more manpower. I'm gonna pm you some info for a guy I know. I have no clue what he'll charge but it's a starting point if you can't find someone else

ok, we just resealed this tank thats a 125, for the 3rd time....key words....3rd time. we can talk you through it. in fact, i see you are in sugar land, i'm in fresno. if you want i can pop over or you can come look at the one we just did. it's not hard...but it is time consuming and tedious to do yourself. if you can afford to have someone else do it, have them come to you!!!!! if they can't still try carefully moving it. we couldn't afford to reseal ours so DIY was the way. but i bought it about 3 weeks ago and i'm JUST NOW about to put water in it. pm me and i'll tell ya the ins and outs if you want to do it yourself. it's fun and you really connect with that tank. but it is not a fast project.

Well, it all just became a moot point. My husband is totally against me getting a used setup. He wants me to get a new one. So I've just had to pass on it. :(

Anytime you move a tank you take the risk of the glass shifting one way or another, even thou the tank wasnt leaking when I took it down, doesnt mean it wont anytime soon, then again it might of held for another 2yrs. John (fshfrk) and I just resealed my 210 and yeah it was alot of work. Then again that was a 7ftr.

i have a 70 i bought new in 1977.moved it at least a dozen times.never leaked.probably have a puddle under it tomorrow morning.
