  • I hope they know how much I love them

It's 3am and I am up doing an emergency water change on the 240g. I've been treating that tank with an antibiotic for the giraffe cat, so the bacteria got clobbered and the tank is cycling. When I went to turn off the lights, I noticed everyone was gaspy, so I tested the water. The Nitrite was higher than I've ever seen it. So...here I am, at 3am, doing a water change.

          +1!

We would all be completely lost without you and your unwavering devotion in all you do. :)

Sorry for the cheesiness, but it's true.

How are they doing this morning? Are you through with the antibiotics? Something you might want to consider is stuffing the tank with some cheap plants to help push the tank through the cycling. You can get a bunch of hornwort for pretty cheap. Then just toss it in the trash (or sell it or give it away or whatever) when you're done. It's cheaper than losing your fish.

              Thanks everyone!

I haven't tested the water yet this morning, but they are all doing well this morning. I'm thinking I'll swap out some of the bio balls with some of the other w/d's around the house to speed up the cycle process.

Jesper - It's Hoover. I'm so impressed you remembered both their names. ) Hoover has what looks like a boil on his face. It's definitely fluid filled. He had 2, but one opened up and that's why I treated with antibiotics. I wanted to make sure that whatever it is doesn't get worse. His appetite is good and he's still very active, I'm just giving him a little extra TLC.

There are not many names of fish that I remember, but those two happens to stick out like a broken arm in a cast. I am glad to hear he is getting better, and hopefully like you said he will be done with his alignment asap.

Everyone is correct... fish get all the extra time I have to give them specially when they are not feeling well.

Your devotion is unwavering Traci :) I am proud of you :) and like MB said... thank you for all the time and efforts you give us back here on HFB !

Keep smiling :) and hopefully you got some rest last night ?
