Another question for you guys though. What tank mates would you recommend. I am lookg to put some shrimp in the tank. Will the badis go after them?

You havent finished the tank yet Kevin? I got mine running right now all I have is RCS and I got my baby tears to grow and they are loving it. I put my tank by the window to get some extra light

I am finished with the layout, but I took a calculated approach to doing it. I am also using Amazonia and I usually wait for about a while to start adding livestock. I am at the point that I want to introduce shrimp and a nerite snail. I figure one is enough for this small tank.

Unless you are sterile with your approach, I would discourage dried anything as food. Freeze dried stuff absorbs moisture from anywhere, including your hands. If you have anything nasty on your hands (you do...trust me), it may get absorbed by the food. It's not like I have any proof of this, but it's just a personal concern of mine, especially with the availability of frozen stuff. I will be interested in your tank, as I am looking to do a 12 gallon with some badis and cherry shrimp. Keep us updated.

I threw 5 RCS to test the water and they are doing great. I am also using the Amazonia.

Great news on the shrimps. I will try to get some this week. I did not want to use amano shrimp as the get too big compared to the badis.
