Lol...but I am short...an it is meant to be a grow out tank...not a "show" tank. He made it short so I could reach the bottom of it to be able to catch them an clean it without needing a step stool.

Using 1/2" glass for a tank which is going to be a almost 900 gallon tank (total weight around 7500 lbs, I am thinking you might want to move to 5/8 at least if not more like 3/4".

I have to agree with 1409 -- If you dont raise it.. then what filtration are you going to use ? The only thing I am thinking at this point is like a custom wet/dry with your hubby drilling the bottom of the tank for stand pipes and install a wet/dry under the tank. How many inches off the floor is the tank ?

well jesper, if they are going to frame it with angle iron it might not be a problem except for the 48" height IDK about that.

Its really the bottom piece I am thinking of.
I would most likely make a solid bottom for which the tank is going to stand on. I want to make 100% that 100% of the bottom is supported.
I would use a min of 3/4" glass on the bottom.
1/2 might be possible on the sides...

I hope so too.. I am just the type person who if I had a 90 x 48 x 48 I would not want 900g of water on the floor, just because the bottom cracked :)

That tank is going to be an AWE inspiring tank...
I cannot wait to see pictures of it.
So now the magical question is this.. What is going in tank ? A trio of guppies ?
