see up north we have pike that get pretty large in the dams in SW PA. The men went scuba diving to check out where the dam needed repairs a few years back. My granddaddy was still around.. and he stopped to watch. It's a rural area and not many interesting things happen very often. When someone shows up in the area gossip spreads like wildfire. Anyhow.. He watched as the water churned at the side of the dam and the next thing he knew the two scuba divers came up out of the water and were white as ghosts. They swore that they were face to face with Northern Pike that measured over 6feet in length. As for now, the record size caught in PA is 35lbs.
I believe there are many things much bigger than we ever imagine in places we think they prob can't exist. Most animals do not need to be exaggerated in order to be awesome. I love finding articles and pictures about monster sized living things...

They tell that same scuba story but with giant catfish in lake livingston...and a few months ago I was laughing when my co-worker was telling that same story about giant catfish in conroe. Always has to do with a couple of scuba divers near the dam....lol...

I have seen some giant gar surface near the north east side of lake livingston...its amazing, you can see them before they break the water and they look like some kind of lake monster....makes you think twice about jumping in the water.
