i've always wanted wooper looper aka axolotls, not really a fish, but close enough

what is the deal with those, i've seen some go for less then 50 a few years back, now they are all 800+

the deal is, they are worth whatever people are willing to pay.

and the retailers figured out that people willing pay insane prices.

plus the fact that they are endangered in there natural habitat or so ive heard.

I remember paying 5 dollars for those at Anything Fishy (when they were around in the early 1990's). Now, when you see them, they are $60.00 +.
I do know that they are nealy extinct in the wild, but the ones sold are usually ablino TC specimens.

did u kept those here in texas? how you deal with summer time? run chiller? they need prety chilled water... thats what is keeping me away from them

Hey I breed scarlet badis (dario dario) should have new fry in about a month. Plus some badis badis with the bluer color.

I want some of these too..look like interesting little fish. Need something for guppy fry control in my community tank that is big enough to eat guppy fry, but small enough not to hurt my adults

they are really neat little fish. They will eat your guppy fry. They stay toward the bottom and lower middle. Plus they will chase your guppies out of their territory which is a bottom corner usually in the back. It is fun to watch.

The badis will mess your guppy up. these fish should be called badass badass.

Well then they could go in a 30 long then huh...I have been trying to explore other fishes besides my ever faithful guppies, and brisltenose plecos. But I still like the small an colorful, so these seem to be right up my alley...

They will be fine in your guppy tank. I was just kidding, which is why I edited my post. I am also on a frog forum, and the sense of humor there is different. Sorry. and when the badis are not in there corner they swim and play with the other fish in the tank. they are shy for a day after water changes, but other than that really social.

the lake they are native to are drained... they no longer have a real home
