You can retract the offer on the rasboras if you haven't already given them to anyone else. They are your fish, you know. I've had people change their mind before. It does happen.

It sounds like you're in good shape for adding the extra rainbows.

I would not suggest burying the java fern for mulch. Pull out all dead plants and plant material (such as leaves) when you do your weekly water changes. The fish's detritus and uneaten food will condition the substrate plenty.

Stores get things wrong all the time. Also I was just pointing out that the Lambchop rasbora is actually different. T. Hengeli (the lambchop rasbora) also have red tint.

I don't mind doing extra work for overstocking, but I think if too much space is taken up, there'll be territorial problems. My honey dwarf and (it seems) paradise fish are pretty laid back right now, but I'd hate to give them no room for themselves. Especially the honey dwarf - he'll sometimes hang out in some corner where no one else is... seems to want to "get away from it all".

Aside from that, maybe someone else is more prepared to trigger spawning. That pregnant-looking one has been carrying them for a couple of weeks now.
Trogdor was a man. Or maybe he was a dragon man. Or maybe he was just a dragon. But he was still TROGDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!

You know, fish are great. I love my fish. But what I really want is a monkey.
