filter for oceanic tank

I have an older Oceanic tank that I'm looking for a hob filter.
This tank has a 1" top lip tank trim. I tried a aquaclear 30 but would not sit on the trim. Does anyone know of a good cheap filter that would fit the tank? I would like a canister, but its outside of my budget.

it's a bit over your budget but try a marineland 200 or 350. I've been using these for years and love them

Seems like the older model aquaclears fit those, as I recall....back when the big one was the aquaclear 2000...might see if someone's got a used one.

dude i might have just what you need...i have a penguin 330 that i just bought all new parts for ( bio wheels, bio wheel brackets, strainer etc) and i dont need it...it needs a new impeller though

also i have a marineland 200 that i bought new brackets for but it needs a bio wheel and impeller...it also has no lid...

both work though and ill give you the 330 for 20$ and the 200 for 15$

that way you can buy the parts you need for wither one and still be under 30$

You may want to look at the Aqua-Tech filters at Wal-mart. Not the best filter in the world but it will do a pretty good job. Plus it will be "brand new".

i have no problem fitting my ac over the oceanic tanks... my ac 30 will even fit over the 150 just fine...

Well my problem is the filter spill way wants to sit on the glass lip of the tank trim and not down into the tank. I had an older whisper filter that also did this and would leak down the back of the tank. The ac 30 i had bought did the same thing.....
