Well the move was a little bit of trouble, but I finally have everything set up.

I am super, super pleased with this purchase. The guy I bought from was really nice and he even sold me some nice plants for a few extra dollars. Before I drove away he also gave me some choice pieces of driftwood.

Even though there aren't any fish right now, I can't stop staring at it. This tank is really great.

I think we were able to keep the cycle alive. I will wait until the morning to check the water. Hopefully there is a trip to the fish store tomorrow....

    Pictures below.

When he isn't looking, I scoop out the big ones because I know the clown loaches can't deal with those....

I have eliminated the following from my list:

Rainbows (lid required, not going to happen)
Cories (I have plenty of bottom dwellers already)
                      Barbs (jumpers, lid required)
                      African Malawi (not plant friendly)
                      Goldfish (ammonia, poopy)
                      Roseline (jumpers, lid required)

I have gravel in my tank with some driftwood, structure, and some plantings. I am looking for interesting, colorful, active, or unique fish that are community friendly. More feedback / suggestions would be appreciated.

I also need some "top dwellers" to balance out the tank.

Angels, pearl guramis and apistos or rams.
If you don't have the glass lids, use eggcrates from lowes/HD ligthing section or buy a new set at city pets, fishland or fish gallery

is there a reason you dont want lids? you can get lids cut at binswanger for 25$ .... the fish you had to eliminate because of lids are some great fish

Fill it up with Neon's or Cardinals.

Fish Gallery has some long fin blushing tetras.

50 to 60 neon or cardinals and mix in 15 or so blushing tetras.

                              Would look pretty awesome
