  • New fishes....now what?

K, got some new fish...praecox rainbows/neon dwarf rainbows. Bought like 20 for REALLY cheap....they are all of 1-1 1/4 inches long right now, and just starting to get some nice blue shine, and red/yellow on their fins. I am trying to decide on whether to put them in the 30, or in the 55....got them in a 40gal QT until I decide what to do with them, and where they will go.

eh...they get nice sized.. i have 4 or 5 turquoise rainbows in my 75 along with a ton of other fish well... not a ton.. but I like variety.. I think 20 will be good. YOu could always get a few more and sell them at the auction. They have another uh..week+ to grow. If you are anything like me, I enjoy fish at the bottom as well and 20 will be a nice group. my opinion only...anything resembling statements by someone else... it's a LIE I tell ya ;-)

I'd put them in the 55 and plant it fairly heavily. I love rainbowfish. Used to have 11 different species...

Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Rainbows are my first love. I have a few Neon Drawfs around that 2"+ mark. I would like to get more if you don't mind giving your contact.

Neon Drawfs don't get very big, 2 1/2" max.

He breeds them..I got the last of his larger sized spawns, but he will have more this size in about a month...I was planning on getting some more just for the hell of it...they are nice little fish, and I have a connection with someone else that may be GIVING me a 75gal...no stand or lids, but my hubby can make those. So I was thinking, if I end up getting the 75, I was going to try for either a rainbow/angel tank, or a rainbow/barb tank...lots of color, tons of movement. And as far as the aquascape, was thinking swords, java ferns, and some microsword/pgmy chain sword combo with driftwood of course too! But I will definatly tell him to send me some more, and that a few people want some...if you want some of the ones I have now, I can bring some to the auction...but I will definatly be getting more from him later. Just let me know
