noise emp 400 filter

I've notices that one of my emp 400 filters has a noise impeller. I striped and cleaned the filter and still making noise. If I push down on the pickup tube it can either get worse, or the pump stops all together. Is this a worn pump impeller? If so where can I get a new one near the Katy area?

sounds like a worn impeller. Have no idea where to get one near katy.

I was wondering if thats something petsmart would carry......I'll have to check tomorrow. I know city pets has them, but not sure when I'll be able to make it there.

I think they are all loud. I'm sure they can get louder, but even new ones are loud IMO.

From the Katy area...

Fishland and Extreme Fish & Pets might be closer than City Pets.

I would give both of them a call to see if they have the part.

I would take it apart again and make sure that the shaft is in tightly and the impeller squarely fits into the motor and that the motor area is completely clean and clear of any sand/substrate and scum.

Then if still making noise gove those places a call and get a new impeller assembly.
