i just setup this tank a few days ago.
im trying out a new light for it.
its a 18" light running 3x 18watt 5,000k xenon bulbs

picked it up at home depot for ~ $30

im pretty happy with it sofar.
it creates a beautiful metal halide type shimmer when the surface is being broken by a powerhead or such.



this 20g long is sort of my head board aquarium, lol

If it is then it looks fine now, but looked much cooler the way you had it setup in the other post. Is there a reason you changed it up?

yeah, the twig like driftwood started getting a bunch of hairy slime on it, i would rinse it, and put it back, and not even 4 hours later it would be covered again, i even boiled it twice and it still kept doing it.
it was nappy as h***.
and the slime stunk like s***.

so i said screw it and threw it in my turtles enclosure.

the driftwood came from the comal river, so i guess it was tainted or something.
i dont want anything harmful or intrusive in my tank. or smelly and nappy,lol
so it had to go.

the water doesnt bother me at all.

i have had a tank in my room since i was 4.
i had 30g with black moore gold fish until i was 7 then i had the 30g with red tailed shark, pair of keyholes, tiretrack eel, dino bichir, and an angelfish.

then at 12 i had upgraded, as in my parents decided for some reason to buy me a 55g, and i moved all of those fish into that tank, and i added a bala shark, green terror, and a fire mouth.

then at 16 when all of those fish died, i had begun really getting into the hobby and got a 60g 48x18x16 acrylic tank with 2x 2217's 3x ac 70 ph's, 2x emp 400's and ~20 different male peackocks.

so i have always had that sound in my room, its soothing.
