With the carbon snake, it takes me less than one hour. If I use the built-in filter system in my wet bar, it takes about 3 hours due to fill time. That's for a 55, 35, 20L and a couple of 10's. I leave the cannisters on since the intake is low enough for my typical WCs of about 80%. I like the effect of the spray bars making zillions of tiny bubbles whether it really does anything to the oxygen content or not. I turn off the HOBs and leave them off until the tanks are full.

Now messing with the tanks, that takes forever, since I'm ADD and can I kill a Saturday between the tanks.

The 125 discus tank takes about 75 minutes to do a complete 70% partial. I do that every other day. The other tanks get once a week 50% partials and together take an hour and a half to 2 hrs.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.

I do 5 tanks in one day, (2) 75g, 90g, 125 and 150, it takes me 2 1/2 hours from start to finish. I have 4 python hoses and therefore drain 3 tanks in the study at the same time and then 2 in the garage. I use two hoses on the 125 gallon and 150 gallon so they drain faster and then I fill them with garden hose. I do 90% water changes in all my tank every 7-10 days.

Refill with a garden hose? Directly from the water valve outside? Isn't that water like 55 F all year round?

Yeah, straight from the water valve outside, I have never measured the temperature. In the summer before I start filling the tank I run water through the water hose till it cools off because of the heat that comes of the hose, and in the winter the same thing I run the water till it comes out warmer. You can feel the difference, did last water change on Monday and have been using this method for years.
