Re: Dyed and tattooed fish - MSN Video

    mmmmm...soup... LOL!

I've seen those tattooed fish and it's not as safe and painless as they say it is...I found an article about it that says they use a laser to take off the scales and they use it to dye the fish and like 80+% of the fish end up dieing... It's kinda sad, but some people believe that some types of fish can't really feel pain...who knows if they can or not though... I'm not going to take a side because I don't really know.

I tattoo my rabbits for ID purposes, and some of them scream their little heads off and others don't even seem to feel it! It's so funny, because it seems to be only the bucks that scream about the tattoos--the does don't seem to mind that much! After I'm done putting in the ink and smearing it with neosporin or bag balm, I put them back in their cages and they act like nothing really happened. I use a clamp tatooer though, and it is very fast! You load digits in it made up of lots of needle-like points in the shapes of numbers and letters and you just clamp the ear...usually takes about 3 seconds for the clamping process. They even eat right after tattooing--that's a typical sign that they are not stressed out! LOL!

The fish tattooing, on the other hand, is all the way across their little bodies...that can't feel too good at all...if they can even feel (?) and, it's not really practical in my opinion...

I really doubt a laser is used. I'm not sure about the other fish but I believe that the tattooing in anabactoids is created by injecting a hormone which they have a reaction to into their skin.

^^^---well, that's only one method of tattooing...not all fish are done this way, but they do use lasers sometimes... i guess I just don't see the point in tatooing the fish...I'm always thinking how practical things are...I guess if you were wanting to sell them to make money--that would be a point, but they aren't even that pretty to me, but I guess as long as there's a market for them stores are going to keep selling them!

You realize of course, that none of this would even have come up if we hadn't given women the right to vote.
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

I still like this country better when my great grandmother's people ran it.
