  • bugs?

Im not really sure WHERE to post this, as I dont think it is a parasite, or causing any harm to my livestock...

So I was trimming back my moss wall and when I removed it I saw what looked to be gnat/fruit fly-like bugs hopping around all over the glass (under water). I also saw a VERY small worm like thing....it moved like a centipede and was probably 1-2mm long. Maybe smaller. After trimming the moss and whatnot I see them occasionally on the driftwood and just hoppin around the tank every now and then.......any clue on to WHAT these are? lol

The small worm sounds like planaria. They're naturally occurring in just about all freshwater. The little bugs may be copapods. Neither should be harmful to your fish.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.

copapods about 1/4" usually hang on to plants (look like sea monkies) http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases...0404091547.htm
Daphnia 1/16" usually hop around (free swimming) http://www.caudata.org/daphnia/
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Could also be a sewer fly larva. Jesper had me identify these before.
