  • 75 Gallon Options

    Hi All,

I have posted several times in here concerning my 75 gallon setup. I have considered going with peacocks, discus, or even expanding on my mbuna. I have scratched discus off the list and still considering a peacock tank

But I have a hex 30 gallon with 6 very nice looking angels and am waiting for a breeding pair.
So I got to thinking about transferring the angels and all tank contents (sand, filter, rocks, driftwood) etc to the 75 gallon tank. I could keep all the fish this way virtually have a fully cycled tank and go the south american tank route. My hex tank would be used as a quarantine tank.

I will be finishing up the tank stand this weekend and re silicone the tank. Allowing 5 days for the tank to sit while the silicone sets hopefully tank can be water checked and then moved inside next weekend.

Well this is just my latest thoughts on the 75 but having fun considering which path to take.

so many choices, so little tank space

angels would be cool, maybe some fancy plecos, threadfin rainbows, neon tetras.... community SA/CA
    25g - Reef
    3.5g - Surge Tank
10g - Ichthyophthirius multifilis breeding colony

I love the angel idea. There are so many different colors and fin types, and angels are so personable. I'd love to see pics of your setup when you get it finished!

I have made up my mind to go the angel tank route for sure. I really have 6 nice angels that would look great in the tank. Add 6 Corydoras maybe a small school of tetras ? Some really nice african wood I saw today..get some java fern to take root on it and a couple more plants and it should look pretty good i think.
Got my filtration ordered and need to pick up my maritime heater next week. Going to be a busy weekend.
