Ideas for 175 gallon

Wanted to thank everyone for their ideas and it looks like the choice has been made. It's going to be the Parrots, Rainbows (adding more), Rams, and Geos. Mark has me sold on them and I am sure with his help I am going to end up with some great fish. May add some Silver Dollars depending if I can't find Red Rainbows but then again may just add more Geos. Now the next step is fixing that stand so we can get this thing up and running. I will start posting photos when we reach that point.

geos are they way to go.....you wont regret it.

I love the Geo idea but unless you are attached to the Parrots...I'd say get rid of em. Your tank will look alot more "organized" if you just have a few species of fish in there. I'm always a big fan of finding 2 or 3 different groups of fish, a group of top swimmers, some middle swimmers and some bottom swimmers. That way your tank will look full with less fish.

^ couldnt agree more....id go only geos, with a shoal of cories and maybe another few smaller fish in there like a school of tetras or some rams. you are more than welcome to come see my tanks btw

WIMP! Hum I don't recall you saying that you had any yet... Tell ya what we will play it just like we did in the old days with the birds, you try it first and I will see how you do lol. For real though you know my schedule right now and as crazy as it can get it would be my luck I would miss a water change and they would all go belly up. And the Rams really don't like them 50% water changes. You know how long I wanted them and if I killed them after all this time I would feel just sick. Besides Shawn you have to give me a little credit here I did cross over to the Dark Side and sat up a S/W tank, and you where right the little Damsel is a turd can't wait till the tank is done cycling so he can go back.

Rex, thank you for the advice on the clean look on the tank. For now I am pretty attached to two of the three Parrots, I figure I will put them in when I set it up and if I get tired of them I will be sending them down to Shawn. If they leave then that will place us with just the Rams, Geos and Rainbows, I think that will make a nice tank with the size the husband is looking for and the color I want.

Oh Shaun for got to add was at the whole sale in Houston today and again I came home empty handed. Jessica wanted me to get a black ghost knife fish but I told her no not until I could research them. I am getting pretty good at not coming back with anything...maybe because I am out of room right now?
