    Moving your tank...

    I have a 92 gallon corner tank and I am about to move. Any recommendations or advice about moving it? I have movers coming to move the other stuff, but should I let them move the tank? Also, what is the best way to handle the new tank having all new water? Is there a way to keep the fish alive longer and how to transport the bioballs/media? Thanks alot...

    Should I expect to lose some fish?

    First and foremost...dont let Geoff Tropheus help you move....apparently he hates his fingers and wants to see them all smashed and broken. LOL...its really not funny..

    ANYWAY.....we move tanks all the time and if you can handle the weight of it, i'd say save yourself some pennies and move it yourself. As for the fish, keep them in a bucket with an air pump until the tank is up and running again. Since you are adding all new water to the tank, do NOT clean filters or the substrate. There is beneficial bacteria in both that will "seed" your tank so that you are less likely to have a bacteria bloom. As for the bioballs, I'd get a bucket of TANK WATER and let them sit in that. How long will you have this tank tore down before you set it up again? Moving tanks and setting them back up is usually not a stressful event. I'm sure there are some people in your area that are on this site that can help you move the stuff. Good luck.

      Hopefully only a few hours (4-6), but I have a bad feeling that anything that can go wrong will. I am just worried and dreading it...

        Dude, all it takes is 2 people working together, and anyting can be moved.
        I move tanks all the time large and small...

          It's like my grand pappy used to say. with enough vaseline any thing is possable. Then again, that's probably the reason none of us kids were ever allowed to be alone with grand pappy
