    Re: My angels have spawned!!

The Angelfish Society wasfounded in 2000 and became incorporated in March 2003 as a not-for-profit corporation. We are a collection of Angelfish enthusiasts, hobbyists and breeders who are interested in the advancement of our hobby, through improvements in the quality of the fish we keep and breed, by employing the standards of TAS.

Nice fish and very good pictures.  Sometimes when the angels are stressed, the stripes on silvers will fade.  But if the stripes just aren't there all the time, then it's likely a ghost.  Good luck with the fry.

A lot of the eggs have gone white :(

Maybe the male didnt fertilize them all properly,

What else could have caused it?

I guess it could have been because theyre still young, some of the eggs still look good. I'll keep posted.

You might want to scrape off the white ones or it will spread to the good ones faster.

Ok, the mother has 4 very faint black stripes along with her dark eye stripe. Total of 5 stripes. Sometimes you can see the stripes, other times you cant. The black stripe on her tail is also gone.

As for the eggs, most of them turned white and fuzzy. I do however have about 30 wigglers.

                  Re: My angels have spawned!!

I guess I missed it the first time I read thru the thread. I just noticed that you had seperated the eggs from the parents and had them in a jug inside the tank...
If you seperate the eggs from the parents, you need to put some antibiotic medication in the water with the eggs since the parents are not taking care of the eggs... I usually use acriflavine, a lot of folks like Methyleneblue  usually at about 5 drops per gallon, that will help keep the bacteria from getting to the eggs...when the eggs turn to wigglers I start small daily water changes until time to feed the first bbs around the end of day 7, so that by that time the water has no meds left in it, once they are all free swimming I turn them lose into the first grow out a tank, usually a 10 gallon, they stay there for a week or two and then seperate out into multiple 30's or 75's depending on the size of the spawn and the number of other spawns I have going at the time....

                      Re: My angels have spawned!!

The Golds have decided they dont like where they spawned and have started moving the eggs(and newly wigglers) accross the tank.

They will more than likely move them several more times.  Mine moved them a couple of times and I couldn't find them at all.  They eventually moved them again within eyesight.  Keep us posted
