Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Tim you have def been the most help. The second one I got at fish gallery when I was up there and now i cant find anything on him. And I got the Acei while I was up there but He just dosent have any blue to him he is more brownish thats why I questioned it. Also do you thing that the melanochromis auratus could be a mix of something else? He just doesn't have a defining line down him..46 gallon bow front

#2 - The only yellow cichlid with black stripes I know of is Metriaclima crabro, aka Bumblebee cichlid or Hornet cichlid. But I'm just guessing. Our Fishhouse

He could certainly be (they all could). Sometime when fish get injured, what was originally a straight line could get splotchy.
I got him from the same row that the red zebras were on.I really reallly dont think he is a Metriaclima crabro, I already have a bumble bee and I wouldnt have got another his body shape is different. But I will try to snap another pic and post it soon. He just always hides under the drift wood. He is hard to get a shot of.46 gallon bow front

You're right...he's definitely squattier, or something. Interesting...whatever he is. I'll go through my books and see if I can find anything similar to him. He's a keeper, whatever he is. Can't wait to see him grown out!Our Fishhouse
