  • selling question

anyone ever sell something on the box and have the buyer return a week later and want a "refund" on something? it wasn't broken or nonfunctional. it was a used ank with heavy calcium build up on it.

i agreed to refund his money but just wondering if anyone else ever had this problem and how it should be handled.

I think it is a personal decision.... but I personally go with all sales final. They see the tank when they purchase it... they have the option to say they no longer want the item upon viewing. In reality you do not know what they have done to the tank while it was in their possession (maybe it leaks now, maybe they used something harmful to try to clean the tank ect)

    Just my 2 cents

As a seller, i refill tanks, filters, or anything hold water to show the buyers that those are good stuff, not leaking if the tanks leaked later, that may be because of wrong transport, carrying....you never know, in this case, i will not refund money.
about the cosmetic like scratch, calcium build-up, the item is sold as is-all sale are final.

As a buyer, don't be shy to ask seller to fill water unless you trust him. i paid for the whole carpet replacement in my apartment just because i trusted the seller which told me the tank was in really good condition, and did not fill water for me to check.
        just my opinion.

I agree on all sales final. As a buyer, the rule doesn't apply if someone misrepresents what they are selling.

Not suggesting that was the case here.
