  • Got A eheim 2260 and could use some help

Picked up a used 2260 a couple of weeks ago, tried to hook it up and had it leak about 10 gallons of water on my floor. had mike here in town look at it and determined that it needed a new O-ring and a couple of new clamps. The parts are in and Im ready to hook this thing up again but Im unfamiliar with the filter and could use some help with it. I dont want to break it because of my ignorance to what im doing with this thing. Anyway I know its a drive but If somebody is in the area and willing to give a helping hand with it Ill provide the beers a food haha. It would either be this Saturday or Sunday.

Here is what your gonna do...

for the clamps...I believe they hook onto the filter with a little silver rod. you will just line the clamp up with the spot for it and angle so that there is a path for the rod to slip through...slide it in...DONE!

For the O-Ring...undo all of your clamps and take the lid off of the canister. Flip the lid over and there will be a space around the perimeter of it where there will be a black/red O-ring inserted. use some type of wedge to get the old one out. Then, take some Vasoline and lube up your new one real good...no globs though. then simply shove the new one all they down into the gap all the way around the lid until it is nice and snug...DONE!!!
