  • Roaches - for the love of god, help!

Okay, in the last week, I've had an explosion of roaches in my bedroom. I discovered the problem(s) and took care of it, but now I have to kill the damned things.

Problem is, with cats in the apartment, all my tanks are in my bedroom. So how do I kill these disgusting little ******** without harming the fish? I worry that poisoned roaches would wind up in the tanks and eaten. Seeing how they're going for everything electronic, I'm finding them around the filters and light fixtures.

Can anyone give me an idea? ASAP? If not, what kind of gun would you suggest for a quick... oh, never mind.

I've thought about mixing some kind of poison into some sugar water and placing it in bowls in corners of the room far from tanks, but as these are roaches and therefore harder to kill than the Terminator, I'd like something strong enough to kill them just about instantly.

I'm seriously thinking about buying a dozen or so tarantulas and letting them have free rein. I'd rather wake up to find one of those crawling on me than the roaches. If I ever sleep in this room again, that is.

    How about roach baits?
When i moved into my new home it was infested with the little kind of roaches.
Went to HD and loaded up the truck with little roach motel baits and baited every corner and every room, behind the toilet, in the closets.
Within a month i didn't see anymore roach droppings.

Really? Wow. I didn't figure they'd work that well, but considering how safe they are, that's a good idea. Maybe glue traps, as well? I wonder which would hold more.

      Thanks! I'll definitely do that.

Any other suggestions I could use in tandem?

            Shotgun?

I'm kidding but if they are up inside things like light fixtures you could take those outside and spray them. It should help cut down on their numbers and its not as big a deal if they escape. Maybe even bait something you could take oustide and spray maybe?

I've sprayed ortho home defense max around my place. Apparently it keeps the bugs out, and kills anything that gets real close to it, but it has no fumes. Of course I keep it away from the tanks, but I spray around the base boards and all the doors and windows.
