  • Red Severums in a 36 gallon bow front?

Will these guys be ok in a 36 bow front?

I have 5 and i want to move them to my office tank.

At this time they are about 2.5 to 3"

They will grow faster and healthier in a larger tank.....they do best in 55 and up.....But, like you, I have "raised" them in smaller tanks in the beginning.....

The larger the tank they live in, along with diet....the faster they will grow....

Do you think they will mix with frontosa's?

hopefully not all in a 36gallon tank...your talking about really big fish in a tiny tank. In a large tank the two will do just fine together. We do it all the time at work.

Right now they are in my 75.

The fronts are in my 125 with my clown loaches.

Really like the severums and don't want to part with them while at the same time considering picking up some more fronts.

What's the most clown loaches you've ever seen in a aquarium and what size was it?

There are some cool large clown loach only tanks on you tube.

your company does a lot of things that aren't correct. Frontosas and Severums usually require different water parameters and a different diet. I'm sure you can FORCE anything to live together...doesn't mean its right. Fronts go with Fronts. A few other tanganyika species will work with them but usually not forever. Daniel, I feel like you've been in the game long enough to be blunt with you... a lot of the crap you see and hear on forums is just that...crap. Don't mix SA. with Africans and Malawi with tanganyika. It might technically "work" but it just shows poor judgement and skill in the hobby.
              If it ain't wild caught
              You ain't doing it right

Yeah i'm not going to mix them. That's why i was wondering about putting them in the 36.

My 125 is done with the exception of maybe adding a few more clown loaches.

Might have to eventually unload the severums or pick up another tank to support them.

Started to pick up one of the city pet 125 deals and had to hold off.

My office tank has always been a barb species tank. Low maintenace and hardy fish.

I don't jack with water parameters. It is what it is out of the tap. I treat with prime and let sit for a couple of days before making a h2o change. I've lost very few fish due to health problems over the years.
