  • Dehumidifier Condensate For Water Changes?

I am about to install a dehumidifier in my fishroom and i got to thinking.... it's pulling out all this water. What a waste it would be to just throw it out.

Would it be ok use the condensate for my water changes? I'm thinking of plumbing it into my 55 gal R/O drum.
Isn't it just simply "distilled" water?

Funny you ask that. I have a friend that just pours the water back in

I plumb it out to the grass

Should be just like distilled. I wouldn't see any issues.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.

I would be concerned about stuff in the air... dust etc. I've never used a dehumidifier so I wouldn't know.

yeah, i did a google search and i have been hearing arguments from both sides.
Some people have been using it for years for topup water and some people have been warning about the impurities being captured. Most commonly, people worry about copper lines which may be bad for the inverts.

          Not sure who to believe.
