I found these today at FG, I picked up two for my 75 SA planted tank. This photo was with my old school phone, so it's terrible. Once I fully stock and get the CO2 system going, I'll have to get the decent camera out and get some good pictures. Both of mine are between 7 and 8 inches long.

Cool looking fish. What exactly is it? And where does it originate from?

    180g - Petrochromis Macrognathus Dine/Tropheus Moorii Namansi I

They are royal farlowellas. I can get more specifics tomorrow. They are one of two species, both are from South America, but they are geographically isolated. I got a male and a female, so hopefully I can share babies at some point.

I've got peat running in my filter now, and I'm putting in a CO2 system within the next few weeks. Once everything gets setup, I'll start pumping in the almond leaf, which should really get things going. Hopefully I can get my common farlowella, blue rams and others into shape as well. I haven't gotten the centerpiece fishes yet, which should get really fun .

Farlowellas are very cool fish. There's a guy over at Aquaria Central screen named TwoTankAmin who lives in upstate New York. He primarily breeds plecos; royals, zebs and others and has also successfully bred his Farlos.

Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.

Species name is Sturiosoma aureum, which is the original royal farl. They are from the Orinoco river in Venezuela.

The other species is S. panamense, but neither Don nor I can tell the difference.

My male just has a 5 oclock shadow, so it won't be for a little while. Males get a full beard when they are in breeding shape.
