  • unique tank...concave shaped

A friend of mine just bought a house that had a custom aquarium installed in it. The house had been empty for while and the tank looked a mess. Had water in it but it was yuck. Filters had a nice aroma to them when I disconnected the lines. His wife loved the house but said the tank had to go. So my buddy says to me over lunch last week, "Dennis, help me take it out and it's yours." The tank was installed in the curve of a stairway and was done by the crew at ADG. I recognized it as soon as I walked in the door as this tank is shown both ith the book they wrote and on their website. It's going to take a bit of clean up but it should be a fun build. I tried to talk them into keeping the tank by showing them the pictures but the wife had already made up her mind.

I talked to Mike over at ADG and he told me the tank was made by Oceanic, and is somewhere between 140 and 160 gallons. Tank has what looks to be an aluminium frame all around it that needs to be cleaned and repainted as the paint is chipping off. It's reef ready and VERY heavy.

I'm thinking the tank will either be a saltwater fish and live rock tank or it might end up being the discus tank I've been thinking about.

I'll have to start on a stand for this beast after I finish setting up my 150.

    here are a couple pictures
