Since my pair of Jacks got to sexual maturity they have gotten along extremely well, and had about 4 fries together. This last go round I was really sick and didn't remove the babies in time (they disappeared in about a day and a half). Now, the male is attacking the much smaller female whenever she comes out of hiding, and she went from having beautiful dark coloration to being extremely pale. Can someone tell me what the hell is going on?? It's like a switch was flipped and the male is trying to kill the female now, when before he would defend her (quite successfully) against two oscars that together was probably 5 times his weight.
