Now I understand why the plants looks healthy... Watch your temp, discus like warm water, specially if they are fry/juvies. That's why a discus planted tank is hard to deal with, with 78 degrees you are playing with fire in the long term. Try keeping your temp in the mid 80's and your discus will love you (don't know your plants but discus for sure).

I agree with the temp. Juvies need mid 80s, adults around 82. I kept a high-tech discus tank for around 7 yrs at the correct temps and most plants did fine. Those which couldn't take the heat were replaced with ones that could. Your plants look very lush. Once you get them trimmed into shape and organized into the scape you want your tank will be stunning. LOL I think you'll find your "gardening" skills improving as you work to keep it in shape.

      Nice job!

Here's a pic of my discus tank about 6 mo. before I simplified things:

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.
