American Tiger Datnoid tank mates?

Just need some suggestions on some good tank mates that i can put in my 55 gal tank with my tiger datnoid (he's about 2 in). Preferably ones that he won't eat or the other way around and not too pricey so under $40. greatly appreciated.

It depends do you plan on keeping the AT in brackish or fresh, I would also never keep a dat that small with aros or other fast growing fish remember dats grow maybe a quarter inch at most per month. In brackish you could keep it with archers, monos, scats. I've seen them in freshwater most of the time with bichirs, my favorite tankmate for datnoids is more datnoids
