Just moved into apartment in the Galleria, got a tank, need some goodies.

So, I'm moved in, I picked up a small tank, its either 30 or 40 gallons, all I have is the tank, and a stand.

Now..... left over from my old tank I do have 240 pounds of Eco complete substrate. It has been sitting in trash bags in my garage for... whats it been 4 years now? Is this stuff still good or do I need to replace it?

I'm looking for a set of lights, and a nice filter if anybody knows of any good deals going on.

doh! an auction for a marineland emperor 400 ended at 8pm at 12.50 with 8 dollars shipping. maybe pick up a marineland penguin 350? trash bags sometimes have chemical to subdue the odor, i wouldn't risk using it. just get new ones
