  • T-5 HO 4' Light under a Canopy

    Bought it new this morning.

1st thing i notice when i started setting it up is a big yellow sticker saying

~ Must be used with the legs

~ Cannot be placed under a canopy.

Possibly presents a problem for me i have a canopy on my tank.

    Are these bullets true?

just a disclaimer...probably because it would get too hot. put a fan or two in your canopy and you should be good to go IMO.

          Aquatic Life

          Bought it from City Pets.

They gave me 4 different bulbs to try out till i got the color combo right fro my Fronts. Told me to return the bulbs i didn't want.

How cool is that for quality customer service.

Yes i agree cp customer service is the best
If I'm right aquaticlife has cooling fans on top of the fixture. What I recommend is to drill large holes directly on top of the fans in your canopy. It you don't have a large enough hole saw give me a call and I can drill it for you. I have some large hole saws

My light doesn't have the fans.

I've been running a corallife dual bulb fixture under the canopy with no problems.

There are two open slots on the back.

I may go ahead an put a couple of holes on the top though.

If i need so help I'll let you know.

aquaticlife T5ho lights use a passive cooling system (I took mine apart to replace a ballast), hence no fans. I think you will be fine by creating vent holes in you canopy to circulate air. A fan or two would not hurt either.
