  • Used wet/dry question

Well I bought a 75g tank set up with a wet/dry that has bio balls that was previously used for saltwater. My plans were to make a fowlr (saltwater) but my plans have changed, I'm gonna use it for my fahaka while I look for a larger tank. The puffer is only about 2.25" long right now so the 75g will hold it for awhile. My question is what do I need to do to the wet/dry that was used for saltwater to get it ready for freshwater? Bleach and water rinse/bath? Also should I rinse the tank itself with bleach water mix? Thanks...

I wouldn't sweat it too much.....give the bio balls a good vinegar bath.....along with warm water...rinse well....and let dry in the sun....some folks run them through their dishwasher without any soap...you can do that too if you have a net or bag to contain them in....

        Most important.....rinse well...and sun dry....

Truth is the cement that holds the bricks and stones of a sane and civilized society together. Remove the former and the latter will crumble.
