  • Tahitian Black Moon SAnd

Ok, I am planning on doing away with my natural gravel and going with Tahitian Black Moon Sand. I have heard great things about this stuff, but am wondering if people on here have used it and what the outcome was for them. I have a 180 gallon freshwater with parrots, jewels a lab and johanni's. I think the black would bring out the color of the fish even more. I have an fx5 fluval on the tank which the drop in I trimmed up and is half way down not all the way down so I shouldn't have any issues as far as sand getting sucked up. Is this stuff a pain to use?

You should be good to go ....now that you have shortened the intake a little . The black sand is cool but in my experience...it tends to make some fish darker . But with the fish that you have...I think you should be fine . I used it with Peacocks and Mbunas and I liked it . I loved it when I used it in the Frontosa tank . I hated it with Trophs..though .
