  • Driftwood Question

I have a very large (3 foot) piece of driftwood I picked up at an auction a while back. It's been sitting in my garage, but I'm redoing a tank and decided now was the time to incorporate it. I attached a decent sized piece of granite to the bottom of it, but that's not enough to hold it down. I put a big piece of limestone on top of it, and that works.

So my question is, will it become waterlogged over time so that it will no longer be bouyant, and therefore the weight of the granite will suffice? I assume so, but wanted to check and solicit some opinions.

    Thanks!

It should be heavy enough by itslef within a day or two. I have two pieces soaking right now with just a couple bricks on them.
