I have a 135 gal tank that is full, but I left it about 4 inches from them wall. I was thinking of brushing on a background with artist quality acrylic paint. I enjoy painting on canvas and think there is enough room to get back there to brush on some black and maybe blue highlights. Anyone ever done anything like this? I use a sheet of glass as a pallet when I paint. The acrylic comes right off with a little soap and water. This way if I ever sold the tank the new owner could peel it off.

i don't see any problem with that ... i painted my tank black and it make a nice solid background ... and i think dark background brings out the color of your fish moreMy name is Andri, and I'm an Ikoholic ! Back in the game !

Paint the back silver and it will look twice as deep.'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Re: Acrylic Paint on a tank - What do you think?
Sorry, I ment the chrome like silver to make a mirror.
I had to replace a cracked panel in a used hex once and used mirrored glass. then I could hide the wires, and HOB filter behind it. It looked so good I was tempted to replace more of the panels beside it. Then it would be like the barber shop, where you look in the mirror in front of you and see the mirror behind you showing the mirror in front of you showing the mirror behind you and so on into infinity.
I've found that when I paint dark blue unless I have a lot of light the dark fish seem to dissapear and when I use white paint the light fish don't stand out. I finally started using peach for the best effect with eather.'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face.
