Tank looks nice! I like the rock.
      Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Thanks Tim. Yeah, I like the contrast between the white quartz streaks against the black. Everything is going well, except I tried to buy a hob overflow from a fellow boxer and found out that I don't have enough space behind the tank. Going to have to fab a PVC overflow for the W/D.

          Update:

Almost done with the DIY PVC overflow. Got to paint it black, add the check valves and let the glue cure for a day or two. I'll start on the 55 gal in the meantime.

And some pics of my fish:

And I somehow got both electra haps in the same frame!

Check Youtube, there's plenty of examples on there that I've never seen before and I fabbed one based on what I saw. Seems to work pretty well for those guys. I'll know in a couple of days if this will. I was going to put in a box overflow but I don't have much space behind the tank now to do that so I had to make a narrow one for the space I have. This will basically straddle the center brace and I'll have to play with the tank water level once it's in.

I'm nervous about it since it's all theory in my head right now and this is my first overflow-to-wet/dry filter I've ever had. On paper, it should flow well. On paper... LOL

Where did you get the idea for that overflow? Also I thought you said you said you ordered a overflow box?

Nah, I was going to buy one from a fellow boxer, but it was too big for the space I got. So I started googling :)

Lol what two words? I will have two ball valves to control flow. One on the down pipe and one on the return.

You're going to put a ball valve on your contraption aka overflow? Don't do that pumps don't pump a constant flow rate so you will have problems

Understood. It's temporary flow control till I get a feel for the flow of this thingamabob.
