  • Thanks Bee. Still have a little ammonia (1ppm) and nitrite (.25ppm) in the water as of today. The huge wet/dry is taking a little longer to prime than I thought and hopefully it will be ready by by Friday. Still dosing with Stability.

      • Beto, that's what I thought. I really liked how it looked in your tank. Your tank completely changed my perspective on cichlid tank decor. What I enjoyed was how your tank didn't detract from the beauty of the fish, but allowed the fish to be the center of attention. I think the reason yours looked so good is because you have such a fantastic group of fish to display.

I can't pull it off right now with my 90g so I'm going forward with my original design idea for now, but I think I'd like to change over to something more like what you have at some point down the road, especially if I'm able to get a larger tank. The rocks might be way too heavy for me to put in by myself, but nothing's going under those rocks so there's no need to move them once they're in.

I was very impressed with your tank and your fish, and now I'm enjoying watching Sunny build his tank, as well. You guys really do such a great job.

        • Since water parameters tested good in the 230 gal, I decided to go ahead and move the petros into it along with the yo-yo loaches. Everything went well and after a couple of hours, here's what it looks like:

The water's still hazy from the Stability I use in my cycling and it should go away in a couple of days. I switched over the two 36" LED strips from my 125 gal and looks like it won't be enough. I'll wait till the bacteria bloom goes away to decide which way to go on the lighting here. Before the lighting, I'll have to add a powerhead to stir things up.

Tomorrow will be another busy day with my new arrivals for the 125 gal. I've already scaped it and done a massive WC on it in anticipation. I'll post an update after everything is complete.

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Ready for maintenance Tim. Got my 5ft ladder and extra long python. And I'm not looking to breed these guys yet. That is still a long ways away anyway.

                          • After a long day at work, I finally managed to get the new livestock for my 125 gal today. These happen to be the adults of the WC and F1 Troph sp. Red "Lunangwa South" colony that used to be with Justin, and they are making the tank look small. Some of the biggest Tropheus I've ever seen!

After less than 2hrs in the tank, they were breeding already! I think that's a record for me. Two females were already holding when I got these beauties and they seem to be doing fine.
