What pleco do i want?

what pleco, doesn't get big, doesn't cost and arm and a leg, i can get locally, won't eat my java ferns? and is peaceful?

Go for Bushy nose reg or Albino. They only get about 4 inches or so total size. And as long as there is food and some algae avail. will usually leave your plants alone. They are generally not very fond of java ferns anyway. They can also be bought for very reasonable prices.

TangoMike has beautiful blue-eyed albino plecos that are a beautiful yellow, and he also has very nice looking regular BN plecos. He also has long-finned plecos. Contact him through this forum. He's located in Spring.

L129....its like the inverse of the L46 and pretty cheap. They don't really eat plants but if you give them a hiding place good luck finding them. I have two that are seriously lost in a 150g. I spot them about once a month if I start moving stuff around. Most plecos poop way too much or way too ugly or insanely expensive.

I don't see them munching on much wood but if they wanted to munch wood it's all good cuz Tim(Armthehomeless) hooked up a huge piece of drift that will keep them fed forever.

The reg brown ones I can agree...not the prettiest but they serve their purpose well. Now the ABN's are easier on the eyes if you can get past the lack of pigment.

Oh this is a truly shameless plug but I'm willing to let go of my 2 L129s if someone is interested. $20 a pop...mere fraction of what I paid. They have grown and have nice markings...that will give me enough to put a down payment on a L46. Ill be able to buy it within a year

Lol, I have 15 mini ABN...all have red eyes. I wouldn't mind some with blue.
