So I went to Fish Gallery today...................
Re: So I went to Fish Gallery today...................
Very intense, any details of Why? What was so bad? I haven't been very happy with the condition of their tanks since the move, but I haven't been in about a month. Are they still having a lot of deaths in the tanks?

Good luck finding 7 to 8 inches for 30 bucks! I have only done this fish stuff for like 7 years or so and never have I seen a loach that size for that price. For that price your are luck to get a 4 inch loach. Hell at the HAS auction those loaches went for like 40 I think the big one was maybe 4.5". Those folks stole those loaches. You must be old to think your are going to get 7 to 8" loaches for 30 bucks. Puff..Puff...Pass :smokin:
Re: So I went to Fish Gallery today...................
I know what you mean. I remember when gas was less than $1/gal too, and now it's almost $3/gal. But I only started going to VT about 3 years ago, and I always thought they were priced higher than most other places. But I've always found the employees there very helpful. And that still goes for the employees @ FG as well. As far as prices, they continue to go up where ever you shop. There are still many places cheaper than FG, but as I've learned, you often get what you pay for. I do look over the livestock closer now than I've done in the past, partly because I'm paying more, and since their move to FG, it seems to me they were having a tough time getting all the new tanks "healthy".

Re: So I went to Fish Gallery today...................
Did you seriously think the NLS was cheap? Friggen $25 for a 300ml can? I would rather feed them fresh mussels then that for the price.
Almost everything there is either dead or seriously sick/malnourished. Plants are nice but there is way too much light for their low level of maintenance/nutrients which cause poor looking plants.
I personally think there is room for improvement which should be any business' mindset and I am sure after they settle down it will be there.
Re: So I went to Fish Gallery today...................
I have great experiences every time I go to FG, they might be a little higher in somethings than other places but for the most part their prices were equal to AW and others I have been to and they are in a more expensive location right in UK (upper kirby). I always go in with a bunch of questions and they all answer it with out making me feel stupid. I like the new digs better the VT it looks and feels cleaner and better quality. The only place I have seen items for less was FRII but they are far from me and they dont like having A/C on.
Re: So I went to Fish Gallery today...................
I agree with delock, if you think the price is good cause it's comparable to Aquarium World you need to get out more!!!! 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O
The service there has always been good to me so I can't complain there....the workers I have talk to on several occasions and most really do know what they are saying/doing.
Re: So I went to Fish Gallery today...................
I think fish gallery is way better than aquarium world. I went to aquarium world all the time when I was little not knowing about all the other fish store around. The stuff was really expensive. I bought 2 bags of 50lb crush corals for nearly 80 bucks if I remember correctly. FG is also expensive but the store does look clean and nice. The guys there are always helpful. I think AW only has young girls working there. Never seen one guy there except the manager.

Re: So I went to Fish Gallery today...................
Ok keep in mind I live in downtown so I usually go to FG for location I do not want to drive out to Beltway the amount of gas it would take for me to get there and back and time it would be cheaper to go to FG. I dont go to Petco or Petsmart they usually dont have a good selection of cichlids or great deals. They are kind of like Walmart I go there if I want to pick up something that I need and the fish stores are close since they all have stupid hours for people who work a 8-5. But I went to FR thursday and they have a good selection and good prices but it still is a little far for me during the weekdays.
