  • Inhabitant suggestions for mini tank

Ok, i found this little aquarium at a garage sale this week end and just had to bring it home.
i'm now debating what to put in it. One picture shows the empty tank just filled with water.
the other 2 pictures show what my other tanks look like. one is a 5 gallon with yellow shrimp
and boraras. the other is a 20 with pea puffers, rcs and boraras.

i would really like to turn it into a sw but i guess a small sw wouldn't be a smart idea for a beginner in sw.
unless someone can suggest some hardy sw fish where water parameters aren't as crucial.

i'm willing to do brackish water since i'm considering giving rhino gobies another try.

    any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You could probably get away with small goby/shrimp combo and zoas and only do water changes.

aquaticaddict- thanks these are the kind of suggestions i'm looking for.

i had already thought of bumble bee gobys and seen them before but after seeing rhino gobys i really like them better. i'm just hoping some one will name one of the many fish i dont know and i just end up liking that one.

When I see a small tank like that I can't help but want to fill it up with dwarf hairgrass and some stones. I'm not too familiar with gobies...even less with brackish/salt, but I've never seen a gobie get too big for a small tank. If you go brackish, there are even a handful of aquatic plants that will acclimate to those conditions.. There's a guy on APC who did a really cool brackish planted set-up for mud skippers...but I don't think you'd have enough room in this particular tank for the elaborate hardscape he has.

Dave monkey: the stone/hairgrass was already one of my original plans since I have some nice stines already. I'm glad most ppl are on the same page as me. I just need some suggestions for some kool little fishy/creatures. I may just do cardinal shrimp if the hairgrass can survive in the ph cardinals prefer. I'm assuming hairgrass needs some soil which lowers ph.

If you are going to do brackish due a baby scat or a archer?? IF you are going to saltwater get a goby and after a while maybe a couple of coral.
