  • mag5 pump noise?

do anyone have any idea how to reduce the noise level of a mag5?!?!?
    what ive done/tried:
    cleaned it twice (today)
put foam pad underneath it (still there)
put foam pad on the side of it (still there)
moved it around the sump (not touching any walls of the sump)
make it work at 50-100% flow rate (100% flow rate atm)

    any suggestions?

        Is it new of used?

What condition is the maggnet in?

Maggnet may have damage causing an embalance which maybe causing the noise.
I ate my fish that died.

That's what I was thinking too but for the cost of a new impeller you could almost buy a new one and save the noisy one as a spare.

Don't think it's cause of the Danner pumps, I've run several before without the noise like you are experiencing.

ima just buy an impeller then... save the other impeller as spare... if that dont work then... ima just leave it until next year...

I would double check all electrical, might be your air pump.

you think it might be the new overflow that is making it smell? i just painted it today and put it in like 3 hours later... lol

Doubt it cause it would have a chemical smell. Check your lighting over the sump.

Anything that could cause a smell and carry it into the water. If it was the overflow it would smell outside the tank too.
