Does anyone know where to get some? I've been looking for a while but, with no luck. I wanted to make plans to mod a biocube 29 hood but, I can't find anywhere.

btw Just to continue my project I found these bulbs from aquatraders http://www.aquatraders.com/PhotoGall...ductCode=62313 they're 17.10 inches and I believe the bulb space in the hood is around 18" i believe (correct me if i'm wrong). Pretty sure I can find a kit to convert it to T5 or I could just tear apart the odyssea 150w MH fixture and retrofit it to the hood and figure out a way to cool it off.

You're asking me? :Evil grin:
GO BIG OR GO HOME!
You can run fans across the bulb to keep it cool and also extend the bulbs life. Couple of computer fans for cooling and a few for exhaust and you should be good to go! Just make sure you have adequate space between the bulb and the housing since the heat could melt it, also carry over the uv glass that's on the old fixture.700g Mini-Monster tank

i was looking for smaller t5ho and cant find anything smaller than 18". you can get 12" t5no but you will have to run three times as many for the same intensity, at least from my observations. i went with a 18" aquaticlife fixture and its good quality. i have a mix of aquaticlife and current usa lamps that are of good quality, i would stay away from odyssea lamps. there is a guy on ebay (jcompany88) that sells 120VAC fans. i bought a couple 92mm x 25mm since they pushed alot of air and are fairly quiet. you can also wire these to a dimmer switch for speed control. MH are great but they are hot and very focused. if you only use one lamp you may have to mount it further from the water surface to get good coverage. two 70w lamps like EK used would work better in that hood if they will fit. let us know how that goes, i was looking at moding biocubes as well.75G Standard - High Light Planted Community Fish
