She should totally do it! I think those are fun cuz the fish are just so awesome. And if you can get the right pH with wild caught fish, they display these amazing colors and behaviors.

Wow. SO I was leaving work today when I made the decision to buy a wild caught trio of one of my showcase fish. It's expensive but I've had a helluva month, so I thought what-the-hey and went and bought 'em. They just arrived from South America this past Monday and they are stunning! They're huge though, nearly adult size (which I wasn't expecting), so I may end up saying good night and good luck to some of my rummies and emperors. We'll see how things work out. They're very slowly acclimating now and should be in the tank within the next half hour. Lights out til tomorrow and then I'll take some pics to share.

Yes, I think that's where we are heading with the next tank, we are hashing out the plans!! I love the idea of it, it can be so beautiful and it'll be so different from our other tanks...

I wanted this tank to be something different from my usual, just like you're thinking. You will love an Amazon tank! So many different kinds of fish, all awesome-looking and cool to watch too.

Exactly, I love the scape difference in the natural environment, it'll be fun to look at, but all those gorgeous fish we've never been able to keep properly before...mmm. Pretty fishies. Plus, we were talking about the challenge of nanos? I'm craving a new pH challenge. Going up is easy, but I have a feeling keeping it down will keep me on my toes and teach me more than a few things!

That's how it starts... My first colony of wilds progressed into a house full of tanks. Even when looking for guppies I went for wildcaught.
