Drilled just for a closed loop 2260 Thai.

She could have the back glass drilled like my 280 and run a wet/dry:

      • Filters are still maturing and water change due tomorrow.

I had to find out a way to have three strainers to let in enough flow so that the overflows can keep up with the mag 18

        • Need a bigger drain.

          Or take the strainer off.

          • So for closed loops i.e. canisters bottom drilling is the optimum way to go--but for a wet dry or sump set up you need some kind of overflow, HOB or reef ready style, or drill the glass high up on the tank or just use the intakes/outputs that usually come stock with a cannister?
While I'm not reef ready, I am salt ernate lifestyle curious...

            • If I had the hear to drill a tank....

              For sunny,

              We expect cleaness from you.

              For Bee,

Your fish will love you but noise is always a factor with wet/dry. Unless you go slow flow or get the Mame overflow. That thing is silent! :)

              • If you gots lots of canister filter turnover already I think a lower flow return pump from the wet/dry is sufficient in comparison to the lower noise level you get in return.

Glass Holes kit won't work because of the Euro brace.

Need strainers to keep my small plecos from going into the overflows Q.

                        • Wow... thanks for all the info. I really didn't know most of that since I'm a wet/dry noob. I just knew a simple HOB overflow wasn't gonna be done because of the euro bracing.

I'm not too certain this tank needs a wet/dry immediately, esp with a 4 ft bubble wall. I've got only one fish breathing hard because it's a jack@$$. I've named him Cranky cuz that frikkin fish has pinned all the others to the other half of the tank. If I can get the remaining two to pair up, I'm giving Cranky back. He's dark most of the time unless every single other fish is out of sight or in a comfortable distance. He doesn't hurt anyone that I can tell, which is good. The two remaining ones are sometimes behaving like they wanna pair up but they're either kept too close to the original pair or the male is too small (his name is Tiny).

                          • About the pics... I've hesitated cuz the tank's basically in disarray right now. It's brown as hayl cuz of the meds and since I pulled out the Purigen to dose the tank. And there are fake plants in there only to provide comfort for the roselines. Once I completely get rid of the copper in the tank, in about another week, I'll go buy some swords and anubias and stuff, and I need a couple more stunner strips. The ones I have now do awesome with the reflectors on. I'll post the vids and pics I took last night, but they're kinda ugly.
