Agreed. I'd keep 'em if I found amazing looking ones, which I did, and those are going to be my showcase fish. What I was saying is that I didn't understand why people kept rare fish just for the reason that they're rare and nobody else has 'em.

LOL no one's pushing over your tanks Nick. There's definitely another Nick being referred to in this thread.

Congrats on moving on up! Can't wait to see the new kids after they arrive and get settled in to the tank!
Magic hip... that's awesome!! I'm going to tell my dad that. And yeah, I think I need to get 20 more rummies for this tank! They're hilarious. I changed the flow pattern in the tank today and they just got so confused. Too funny to watch. It'll be interesting to see what they do when I add in larger more "intimidating" fish. )

Never! Nanos are frikkin awesome and you know it. I remember the first time you walked into my apartment, to pick up those ABNLFP and you saw the nano right away on the countertop and you said, "whoaaaaaaaa what is thaaaaaaattttt" so say all you want, my friend! I know you secretly love nanos. You're a closet nano-lover!!!

Two, you can barely see them. Three, getting them into equilibrium and to stay there is harder than one might expect. Four, expense per gallon is borderline idiotic. In other words, nanos are what people like Derek Zoolander have
Expense per gallon?!! WHO even calculates that?! Also, obtaining and maintaining equilibrium in a nano = mad skillz yo. If you're not up for the challenge, we understand.

And excuse me... Derek Zoolander? Really? You went there?

So, I got a twin T5 HO today (48") and *argh* the canopy won't fit over it because part of it sits on the glass on either side. I might have to get a 36" and see how that looks. Those Giesmann bulbs are frikkin bright though. I'm missing the shimmer that you get with LEDs though. :( I want to go with them but I dunno if those will keep my vals alive. I don't need them to propagate or go crazy or anything, just want them to look good and be alive.

Take the ends off of the fixture or disassemble it and mount it in the canopy!

                      +1!

                      Nanos go hard!

I miss doing water changes with a cup of water.

Expense per gallon is a worthless as watts per gallon.
I ate my fish that died.

Sigh... a 5g water container use to handle top-offs and water changes for a month. Now it's now where near enough for just top-offs.

Was considering that. I probably can't mount it cuz it's still too long. I also don't know if I like the colors of the light. The Midday bulb gives way too much of a yellow hue but my fish look best with the blue/purple hues, so I may do the Aquaflora (which I have on there right now for the plants) and the Aquablue Plus (also for plants but has an actinic element to it too).

                            Exactly!

I miss my 45-f nano reef right about now.

Even a job to the 60p was a lot of work when comparing the two.

I'm sell everything and stack 20Ls.

                                Put some stunners on there!

Why didn't you go with the double bright LEDs?

The 36-48" fixture. It's sure to fit. I have a canopy and it works for me.
