Anyone interested....SJAC...SE Group Gathering

I live on the SE side of town in Deer Park and was curious if those of you that live in that area would be interested in meeting as a group once a month?  A social group but freshwater fish hobby oriented.  Fishbox has grown quite a bit since I joined last year and their are quite a few of us in the SE.  

I'm a member of LHA which is based in Huffman Tx. on the NE side of town and I love it.  I'm not considering leaving the group, sorry Scott, I still plan on being apart of that club, but would like to see one for SE side as well.  

Here is what I'm thinking of, "San Jacinto Aquatic Society".  

Feedback would be helpful.

I would like to have one also. I think the name would work just fine.
We could have people from Pasadena to Crosby. Were would all be meeting at?

Where to meet is still a question mark.  I have no problem having meeting at my place...its big enough I think, but suggestions for an alternate location would be welcome.  We could take turns having the meetings at someone's home or we could meet at a restaurant.

The only problem with meeting at a restaurant is you don't know who all will show up till they do....my experience anyways.

I was thinking of those who live in Clear Lake and La Porte as well.  Maybe Pearland too.  

I like the meeting on Fridays, but I'm open to suggestions on that too.

I would be interested in joining.  Is the majority of the SE people from clear lake?  Maybe a meeting place in clear lake (not just bc i live in CL, but bc many members of the SE do)

In fact I was thinking about the MARSH tank tour. I would like to do something like that for freshwater before I start buying equipment again.

Can i come from the NE? You could have it on the 3rd friday of the month, that way it wouldnt conflict with the LHA.

Rebekah, your in luck, theres a meeting in Huffman every month (although the next meeting will be at Mikes tropical fish and pets)

I live in Cypress, about 45 miles away, I don't like the idea one iota......cause I can't come, without burning up precious fuel that I could be using to go buy more stuff elsewhere......

MJY, I was viewing the Members list and from what I could see, Clear Lake didn't have much more than SE, Pasadena, Deer Park/La Porte.  

Honestly, I'm looking to meet somewhere in the Pasadena/Deer Park/La Porte area.  I volunteer my home for the first meeting if not for all of them.  I'm gonna lookout for a place to meet that is pocket book friendly.  Anyone have a warehouse or meeting room available to them in the SE area?

Chris, you are more than welcome.  Membership would not be limited to just those in the SE, but that is what it would be geared for.  

As for a date, lets hold off for a day or two to see what kind of response we get.  I think this would be fun.

Sorry CichlidFan.  Maybe you should start one for your area.  A while back there was someone looking at starting one in the SW.  Not sure what happened with that.

As soon as I get all the empty wall space covered and all the tanks up to date with every conceivable filter and or fish available, I might think about it, until then, I'll be way to busy saving the precious little life forms from the mean old LFS owners like Mikey......

In the cooler months I could setup a couple tables outside to hold a meeting or two.
